We would like to “Officially” welcome Brandon Coleman to Jazz and Roots Cincinnati as Director of Graphic Design & Media! In addition to being an accomplished musician and educator, Brandon is also a wizard of all things graphic design and technology. Brandon has been a huge asset to Jazz and Roots Cincinnati from the get go, lending his creative graphic design skills to help create all of the posters, logos, recordings and videos for us. Brandon is a team player and dedicated community leader and we are extremely excited and lucky to have someone who is equally skilled as a musician and an educator as he is in the world of graphic arts and technology as a part of the team at Jazz and Roots Cincinnati!
Master guitarist Fareed Haque will present a three hour workshop on his Truefire DVD “Jazz/Rock Workshop”
Pete McCann – Masterclass and Concert
Monday Nov 9th
5:00 – Masterclass
6:30 – Intermission w/ D’Addario giveaways and food
7:30 – Concert featuring Pete McCann (Guitar), Aaron Jacobs (Bass), Tony Franklin (Drums)
Pete McCann is undoubtedly one of the most respected and industrious electric guitarists on the New York and international scene – a popular sideman in innumerable jazz and jazz/rock line-ups over the past 25 years, as well as a recording artist in his own right with five solo albums released to date.
McCann’s prowess has led him to perform with many of the jazz greats, including Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman, Lee Konitz, and Brian Blade, and the breadth of his experience – incorporating jazz, rock, Latin, fusion and contemporary classical – has prompted his appearance on over 80 album recordings. Working with the likes of Patti Austin, Grace Kelly and Curtis Stigers, as well as the Mahavishnu Project, he has progressively forged an enviable reputation for both exactitude and exhilarating musicality, influenced by seminal guitarists including Wes Montgomery, John Scofield, Allan Holdsworth and Mike Stern.

Friday Oct 30th – Creative Jazz Improv Workshop w/ Jeremy Cunningham and Jeff Parker
On Septemeber 27th we celebrated our first inaugural event by presenting guitarist, Fareed Haque, in masterclass and in concert! It was a great event with 25 in attendance. Urban Artifact was our venue partner and the Greater Cincinnati Guitar Society was our co-presenting sponsor. Big thanks to those two great organizations for a shared vision and all the hard work in making this event happen! We also had three sponsors! A huge thanks to D’Addario, Reverb.com, and Bonomoni Bakery for their generous support and donations! We were able to give away a lot of fun guitar related items at intermission while enjoying coffee and pastries. Stay tuned for some great video footage from the masterclass and the concert!
